Bridges in Indiana

http://www.galenfrysinger.com/covered%20bridges_franklin_county_indiana.htm

There are 91 standing covered bridges in Indiana, and a few more lost to memory.

It really never dawned onto me, that covered bridges weren't everywhere. Here in Indiana, they are revered and are considered works of art, much time and money (private donations and historical societies) goes into the maintenance and restorations of these feats of engineering.

They are very pretty, and I think romantic and a very big part of Indiana’s history.

Many have been lost to floods and others to time... So the remaining 91 are treated (for the most part) with tender loving care!  There is only one left in the county I live in. I will post pics as soon as I can.  There largest one near where I live is no more, lost to multiple floods at Fall Creek, years ago.
